A Cabinet Painting Company Working One Trade Across Markham And York Region

Kitchens, basement second kitchens, islands, vanities and built-in units in houses and condo suites across Markham, Unionville, Cornell, Box Grove, Greensborough, Stouffville and Scarborough are sprayed, refinished or refaced by Markham Cabinet Painting. We are fully insured. Cabinets are the only thing we finish, which is why we can talk about a specific oak kitchen in Raymerville or a melamine galley at Downtown Markham instead of talking about paint in general.

The houses set the agenda. A 1970s birch kitchen in German Mills, honey oak from 1988 in Milliken Mills East, 2006 thermofoil in Victoria Square and a hard-working basement kitchen under a Berczy Village house each want their own primer, their own depth of prep and occasionally a different answer entirely. Most of this trade is telling them apart.

Prep Decides Whether Cabinet Painting Lasts, So Prep Is Never Trimmed

Coatings leave cabinets for a few identifiable reasons. Grease was still there. Sanding got skipped. The primer did not suit what it went onto. A heavy coat went into service before it had cured. So each drawer front and each door is tagged before coming down. Cooking wax is cut with a cleaner that will actually shift it, surfaces go dull under sandpaper, and substrate decides the primer. Oak and cherry take shellac. Melamine and thermofoil take a bonding primer. Maple and MDF take standard cabinet primer.

For topcoat, waterborne alkyd enamel or else 2K polyurethane, laid down in a few thin passes and scuff sanded between. Doors head to the booth; boxes are coated in position behind sealed plastic. The reasoning against a brush lives on the cabinet spray painting page, and the services page lists each kind of cabinet painting on offer.

A Cabinet Painting Quote Names Doors, Substrate, Primer, Topcoat And Coats

A single number covering an entire kitchen compares with nothing and leaves room for extras once the work is under way. Ours tallies drawer fronts, doors, end panels and boxes, records the material, flags any need for grain fill or bonding primer, names both primer and topcoat family, gives sheen and coat count, prices the hardware, and attaches a figure to each part. Islands, pantries, vanities and a basement kitchen each get a line that can be kept or dropped.

That visit is free and takes roughly thirty minutes. The kitchen cabinet painting page shows what a complete quote covers, and the second kitchen cabinet painting page explains how two kitchens are priced together.

How We Work

  • One Trade Only

Cabinets are the only thing we finish. That is why we can talk about a specific oak kitchen or a melamine galley instead of paint in general, and why the sequence never gets shortened.

  • Prep Is Never Trimmed

Coatings fail from leftover grease, skipped sanding, the wrong primer or heavy use before the cure. Every job is tagged, degreased, sanded and primed to suit the substrate before any colour goes on.

  • Itemised Written Quotes

Doors, drawer fronts, end panels and boxes are counted, and the quote names primer, topcoat, sheen and coats. Islands, pantries, vanities and basement kitchens each get a line you can keep or drop.

  • Advice Over Order-Taking

We say so when a door must be replaced, when wood is worth refinishing, or when a colour will read wrong against the counter, then we spray a sample door to prove it.
